Most of us wants to get up early in the morning but it becomes difficult for many of us because of our lifestyles. Waking up early has many advantages. It gives us more time for both productivity and leisure time.
Becoming a morning person is easier said than done for many of us. Before going to bed we tell ourselves that we will wake up on time to give us sufficient time to have exercise and proper breakfast. However these positive intentions go out of the window and getting out of bed becomes difficult and as soon as the alarm bell rings we quickly hit the snooze button.
Morning time is the best time of the day as we can use that time to do exercise, go for morning walk, do some meditation in solitude and simply relax.
Some of the things which you can do to become a morning person are:
1. Get more sleep
Go to bed a bit early and try to sleep for 7 to 9 hours as sleeping is very essential part of your health. Getting enough sleep helps in increasing memory, improved metabolism, good mood and low stress levels.
2. No Screens in the bedroom
Bedroom is meant for sleeping so avoid installing TV or other screens in that room. Also don’t use laptops, mobiles etc. in the bedroom. As we spend most of our day looking at different screens, this can be confusing for our brains. If you cannot do this, at least restrict your contact with screens an hour before bed.
3. Get up at the same time every day
Make it a habit to get up at the same time every day. When you do this, your internal clock will take over and it will become easy to get up at same time in the morning.
4. Get moving as quickly as possible
Start moving as soon as you get up from the bed. This will help in you get going for the various tasks scheduled for the day.
5. Expose yourself to natural light
Make sure that you are getting out and exposing yourself to natural light. It will give you Vitamin D and fresh air. Going out in natural light will help your biological clock and will improve your mood.
In conclusion, initially it is difficult to get up early in the morning as change is always difficult. However after you have set a schedule it will be good for your physical and mental health.
